In a preface the editor Jules Renouard says that this edition was planned by Legrand D´Aussy before he died. Renouard has used Legrand´s notes and corrections as far as possible for this third edition. He also is responsable for the illustrations. Moreau died in 1814 so the last illustrations are composed by Alexandre Desenne, who also died before the publication of this work. This edition is highly estimated by Brunet, III, 946. He says that it is a beautiful work. First edition was published 1779-81 and the second 1781 (12:o.).
